She said she was tired
of this whole image war,
“The magazines
and the beauty queens,
All slaves to the masses”

He tried not to laugh
As she sang,
Another random song
As she trailed off
Falling asleep on the phone

She said she was tired
of feeling like this,
“The anxiety
and the complexity,”
She just needed to cry,
Then she would be fine
Then she would be okay

He tried not to interrupt
As she sang,
Another random song
As she ranted again
Long into the school-night

She said she was tired
of wasting her time with words,
“the “grammatically correct”
and the useless structure”
she just needed to sing
Another Random Song

I'm a rock lobstah!
hey thats heaps cool,i love singing, though it tends to rain afterwards but hey :) it's sad though it seems to me that she's trying to sing her way from dispare(if thts right there)and yet when she does some one wants to stop her but holds back i thinks thats what i want to say :/ but great piece :)
mmm once again, a moving poem about the inner self demanding, pleading to be heard, about a girl lost in the whirlwind of the world around her wanting just to be taken quietly,it is a strong piece, a gently bitter tired piece. holding back is your nature, but poems like this are letters sent out into the world.. and i am glad you get them out

i can't find myself,
i got lost in someone else...
and i am glad people like you recieve them and take them for what they are. thank your for your insightful comments love.
thank you so much for the insightful comment! i agree and i can see what you are saying about her wanting to sing herself away from dispair, like a child who plugs her ears and sings loudly to drown out what they dont want to confront. thanks so much for the cool comments
The colours in the picture make me happy, but the emotion is dark. I once talked on the phone for nine hours to someone who was never listening to begin with. That is why I sing, methinks. Just to rant and reason things with myself if no one else will listen.
